XPDC : Gunung Suku, Simpang Pulai, Perak - 21 feb 2006 (Selasa)
Kali ni bawak geng RMDC plak. Trip hari Selasa pulak tu, sume pakat cuti, off day, ade yg MC, ade yg ponteng keje.. hehehe.. bagus la kekawan aku ni.. Asalnya aku, talang ngn amoi jek yg nak ke Suku ni.. Pastu dapat jugak la meracun budak sampai total trekkers aritu dah sampai 15 orang.. Huhu.. meriah. Kumpul kat LRT Sri Petaling, syok jek kitorang tgk orang2 rushing pegi keje.. Aku,Epot,Nazly,Budin ngn Pogo naik kete aku, yg lain naik kete Hensem. Konvoi 2 kete jek dari KL ni.. jumpa bebudak Ipoh kat simpang pulai. Konvoi 2 kete pon leh jadik meriah gak.. main angkat2 kaki .. ahaha

Start trekking pukul 2 petang. Sampai starting point kol 12 tapi sebab tunggu geng perak tak sampai2 lagi.. kitorang pon decide gerak dulu kol 2. Aku ngn Eppott gerak last skali masa ni. lain dah naik dulu. Baru start nak naik dgr bunyik van masuk.. kitorang berlari turun balik ngn Nazly skali.. tgk2 salan sampai. ngam2 timing. Pastu kitorang gerak skali la ke puncak Suku.
Trekking sememangnya mencanak dari mula sampai abih. Aku dah sound awal2 tapi korang degil. kan dah penat sume nya.. Tomot ngn Budin menjerit2 "pulangkan wang kami!" kat aku.. wakakka padan muka korang sape soh nak pegi. Padan la muka aku skali sape soh ikot.. layan la bukit pangok tu.. Chimm lak sebok ngn phone dia carik line nak sms pakwe kot.. kes kes
Lepas 2-3 kali take 5 dgn rase menyesal naik gunung hari selasa, kol 3pm beh kurang sampai puncak tipu.. bleh nampak puncak Suku dari sini. Lepas ni trek menurun jek pastu naik skek 3 bukit sebelum sampai ke Last Waterpoint. Sempat la bergambar.. tunggu Amoi ngn Talang skali.. Salan pon ada.. Topoi ngn Am dah teruskan lagi ke last waterpoint. last man Adli ngn Ngai.
Kol 3.30 pm sampai la ke last waterpoint. Air tak besar sangat kali ni. Dulu tu musim ujan kot bulan 12 tu pasal air deras jek.. Lepak sini tunggu sume sampai tapi mmg tak jumpa Pogo ngn Hensem langsung sbb dorang dah gerak dulu.. kene marah ngn Budin ngn Mot sebab tipu dorang kate lagi 15 minit jek menurun tapi rupa2 nye ada naik lagi.. ahahha.. amik2 gamba.. Salan dah bukak air kejayaan 100 plus kaler oren..
kol 4 camtu, kitorang proceed ke puncak.. ada lagi 45min ke sejam utk sampai puncak. Trek makin pangok sebab makin canak. Layan trekking ngn Chimm.. pastu dia benti kasut dia terkopak.. dok bantai riben marking tu ikat kasut dia..kes kes aku gerak dulu la Chimm.. benti lelama pangok. layan la trekking sorang2 sambil pk kalau aku kat rumah tido ni kan best. dah la dari mlm tadi tak tido sebab keje mlm... balik keje terus ke Suku. Tido lam kete sejam jek.. ado.. seb baik ada Pogo bleh drive.. Pogo la pemuda harapan bangsa dan negara.
Sampai kat simpang dah.. yahoo dah tak jauh.. ke kanan g campsite ke kiri g puncak.. sebab aku jalan sorang2 malas la aku nak pegi campsite tu tak berani.. terus je la proceed ke puncak. Layan view cantik kat sini. Trek dah lunyai la.. sedih siot.. dulu pegi trek bersih giler skang ni dah bleh nampak sampah2 ngn suar trekking sape tah yg tak senonoh tinggal kat situ.. Hangin lak aku tapi tak leh nak kate ape la.. takkan aku nak marah kat suar tu.. nk amik geli pulak.
Dalam kol 3.50 camtu kot sampai la puncak Suku. Yahoo! View marvelous gile time ni. Hangin aku tadi pasal orang campak2 suar tu hilang kejap.. sebab puas hati kali ni nampak view 360 darjah. Huhu nampak puncak Chabang, Titiwangsa Range (korbu, gayung, yong belar), nampak puncak ape tah belah kanan.. ingatkan G.Siku tapi bile tgk peta topo bukan Siku, tapi puncak lain takde nama. Pastu nampak puncak irau ngn brinchang tower skali.. Best gile.. pogo,hensem,salan,topoi ngn am dah sampai dah masa ni..
Tak lama lepas tu, yg lain sume sampai.. ngai ngn adli last skali.. ngai ade terkene itu buasir la.. ahaha dah tau kene lagi mau naik gunung.. bahaya wo0o.. iskk.. ngeri lak aku dgr.. sume layan amik gamba, makan nasik, borak2.. beh kurang kol 6.15 kitorang turun balik.. sebab tanak sampai bawah lepas gelap..
Balik aku trekking ngn Chimm ngn Epot.. Pogo ngn Hensem dah jauh ke depan. Budin ngn Tomot tak jauh kat blakang.. kitorang bertiga mmg jalan skali jek.. sebab ada sedikit horror lah.. angin mmg kuat tol time ni. mmg tak benti dah.. risau angin kuat sangat. benti pon kejap jek kat puncak tipu lepas last waterpoint tu Chimm nak membuang.. lepas tu sambung lagi turun tak benti2.. tergolek pon bgn cepat2 lari balik.. heh. Sampai kat parking kol 7.20 camtu.. yg lain pon tak jauh kat blakang. Last man ngai ngn adli pon sampai dalam kol 8 lebih skek camtu.. Rupanya bile dah balik sume bukak kisah horror masa nak turun.. ramai gak yg kene kisah mistik kat sana.. patot ar sume nye merempit turun..
lepas turun Salan ngn Ngai bawak kitorang makan kat simpang pulai.. ape tah nama kedai tu.. lepas makan singgah tapah mandi sume.. pastu terus balik KL.. dari simpang pulai sampai ke KL mmg Pogo saje la yg drive.. aku mmg out terus.. ganti tido dari smlm tu lagi.. Time kasih Pogo jasamu dikenang. Lam kete aku, epot,pogo,nazly ngn budin sume bukak cite mistik masa turun dari puncak. Sume citer lain2.. seram gak sebab agaknya gunung tu jarang orang masuk lagi kot. tapi kejap jek bercerita, pastu sume dah out of order kecuali pogo. Takpe la.. sape soh naik gunung hari Selasa.
Lengkali nak naik gunung ari selasa ajak la aku lagi.. ahakss..

1000 - start trekking dari kg orang asli. Trek memula mencanak dalam stengah jam, pastu main
permatang. Trek cun giler.
1200 - Sampai puncak 1750. Lunch
1400 - Proceed to Last Waterpoint.
1430 - Sampai last waterpoint. Landmark - ada batang balak campur pokok pisang. Pikap air turun
dalam 5 minit belah kiri.
1520 - Proceed ke puncak. Mencanak giler dalam stengah jam sampai semput. Lepas tu main
permatang lagi. Tapi byk mencanak jek.
1630 - Sampai Puncak Swettenham. Beirut dia senget.
1730 - Last man sampai. Aktiviti bergambar sakan kat beirut. Campsite kat situ bleh tapi kitorang turun
bawah skek dalam seminit. Ada kawasan lapang pastu lumut yg cun. Kitorang malam ni tidur
bertilamkan lumut n berbumbungkan langit + full moon. Ooo agaknya pasal full moon kot malam tu ada
kisah mistik kat puncak .. jeng jeng jeng...
Dinner : nasik putih + kari ikan masin + mushroom.. nyam nyam..

0630 - Lamie kejut sume orang bangun. Tapi yg bangun aku,lamie,aishah,eppot ngn bai jek yg berkobar2 nak
tgk sunrise.
0700 - Tengok sunrise yg marvelous giler. Bleh nampak Hotel Equatorial lagik. View superb 180.
0830 - Breakfast. Menu - nasik lemak + sambal + telur dadar nyam nyam
1200 - lepas breakfast baring2 lagi.. kol 12 baru jalan turun.
1330 - Sampai puncak tipu 1750.
1400 - Proceed ke starting point.
1500 - Sampai starting point. Mandi manda kat Cameron pastu malam lepak2 makan restoran Tapah sebelah
masjid tu.. nyam nyam

Sabah Trip Part 2 - White Water Rafting @ Sg. Padas

Activity : White Water Rafting @ Padas River
Date : 9th Jan 2005
Location : Sg. Padas
Sempat jugak pegi layan white water kat Sungai Padas dgn Aweng, Botak, Baby ngn Ya hari Isnin sebelum balik KL mlm tu. Mmg puas hati, eh tak puas sebenarnya sebab sejam lebih tu rase cam kejap sangat. Seronok layan tiba-tiba dah sampai lak kat endpoint. Rapid dia grade 3-4.
Dari KK, kene pegi ke Beaufort train station pagi2 kol 8 camtu, dalam sejam stengah sampai la ke Beaufort. Pastu kene naik train dari Beaufort lebih kurang 2 jam stengah ke 3 jam ke Pangi Station. Tapi sebelum tu kene stop kat Rayoh Station dulu letak barang2 - (baju kering, beg, kamera) sebab nanti akan start rafting dari Pangi ke Rayoh ni. Unfortunately, cameraman group lain dah booking, so kitorang tak dapat gamba masa tgh raft  macam kene pergi lagi jek ni.. heh
Sampai Pangi, ada briefing camne nak handle raft, dan safety sume, baru leh start raft. Mula2 kite akan dapat 2 warm-up rapid, kire rapid geli2 jek.. kasik biasakan ngn raft, pastu dia bagi rapid kaw-kaw start ngn Headhunter, Scooby-Doo, Cobra (paling thrill), Lambada ngn Washing Machine.
Dari satu rapid ke satu rapid, kite bleh terjun mandi-manda nanti raft pick-up la kat tepi.. kene make sure jgn swim ke tgh air deras nanti susah mau amik. Cam kitorang guide tak berapa sporting, saje tanak kasik raft capsize, terpaksa la kitorang capsizekan diri sendiri.. haha terjun. Aku, Botak ngn Aweng siap gilir2 duduk depan raft buat rodeo ala-ala koboi.. best giler..
aku rekemen utk sape2 yg g Sabah tu, pegi la sungai padas ni try. Total raft time dalam sejam stengah. lepas tu sampai rayoh, ada BBQ lunch, mandi pastu naik tren balik ke beaufort. dari beaufort return ke KK sampai dalam kol 6 lebih.

Sabah Trip - scuba diving

Purpose : Scuba Diving License under PADI and White Water Rafting @ Padas River

Thursday 5th Jan
1400 - reached KK Airport. Jenny's sister picked us up and went to a Mamak shop to eat. Then Jenny
took the car and we wandered around KK and bought some clothes and lepak some more.
1700 - Registered Open Water PADI course. Had our first theory class - introduction to Scuba Diving.
1900 - Went to Consol's house (our port for the whole trip) and got ready for dinner.
2000 - Dinner at Pizza Italia.. or something. Forgot the restaurant's name. But it was full of foreigners
and I think we were the only malaysians there. The food was fabulous. Met up with Jenny's gang - Lee Fong and Diane. Then wandered around KK to check out the city at night. Went to Sutera
Harbour Hotel - cool place.
2330 - Balik tido. Damn tired.
Friday 6th Jan
0700 - It was already very bright. I forgot that the timezone here is a bit different. Sun rises at 6 am.
0800 - Went to a "Tamu" at Penampang. It's like a morning market which they also sell souvenirs here
beside food. We were already late for our first Confined Water Dive class.. but what the heck.
0900 - Met up with the instructor - Mr Fung at the jetty. We suited up and the boat took us to
Mamutik Island.
0930 - Had our first confined water dive. We learned how to use all the scuba gear and equipments and
how to breathe underwater. The most important thing is - Don't Hold Your Breath!
1200 - Went back up to shore. We had lunch and slept at the beach and I thought - THIS is vacation
man..
1600 - Mr Fung taught us on how to assemble to tank and scuba gear ourselves. It wasn't that hard, but the
tank was really.. really heavy.
1700 - went back to KK and done for the day.
2100 - Second theory class.. Huarghh awat la ngantok sangat ni..
2300 - Finished class and went to lepak at Shenanigans.. not a bad place. Met up with Jenny's fren and
cousin. The club offers great live band performances, by a Filipino band.. cewahh promote lak.
Saturday 7th Jan
0900 - As usual waited at the jetty. O0ops.. more like the whole gang waited for us. Went to Mamutik Island
today to continue our confined water diving. Learnt how to self-rescue, change mask underwater, swap
regulators, how to pump BCD manually, hand signals, checking the pressure gauge,.. bla bla bla the
works.
1230 - Done for today. Went to shore for lunch. Lepak with the kids from KL who took up scuba as well.
1530 - Went back to KK. Went shopping at the pearl shop - jamilah sumthing. supposed to be the biggest
pearl outlets. And the pearls are quite cheap there.. I think.
2000 - Our third theory class.. ZZZzzzzZz.. beginning to feel a bit dizzy because of excess nitrogen in our
body. That's what you'll get if you get deeper underwater.
Sunday 8th Jan
0830 - Today we were early and psyched up for our last diving class. But it was raining heavily in the morning.
We went to Gaya street market I went up to a store a bought an underwater camera for about rm50. But
the quality was bad. Once you reached about 10 metres deep, the visibility for the camera became very
bad. All my photos were ruined. I only managed to capute less than 10 successful shoots, and all of
them were only 5-10 metres deep.
0900 - Went to Sapi Island again for our last confined water dive class before we can go diving into the blue..
cewahh feel like jessica alba a bit. Our last class comprised of learning the usage of the underwater
compass, detach and re-attach BCD underwater, basically the whole thing, I just forgot what I learnt
actually.. haha very the stupid. But at one time, the instructor actually turned off our air supply
underwater just so we could experience how it feels like to lose air and not able to breathe. Scary.. but
thanks to buddy system (which is compulsory for every diver no matter how experienced you are), each
of us have a spare regulator so we can share air while ascending to the surface and the other hand must
hold the BCD to pump air when you reach the surface. Duhh.. sounds very technical.. macam power
jek.. but that's the survival technique that you have to learn to survive, should anything dangerous
happened to you while underwater.
Up to this point, until our very last class, Jenny had trouble sinking into the sea. Not sure why, I guess
she probably had her own buoyancy that helped her stay afloat.. hahaha. So she had to use more
weights to help her sink, THEN she had trouble going up to the surface coz of the excess weights. Aiyaa
ini pelempuan.. until the instructor also almost gave up on her..
1200 - We have completed our class. Then Mr Fung took us somewhere in the middle of the sea for our very
first real dive into the water.. Huhu.. scaryyyy.. but we were excited anyway. He and Sulaiman the
divemaster took us there by boat. We setup our own equipments - we are already experts by now -
checked and double checked our gears, buddy check.. and down we go.. At first we were nervous to go
deep, the water looks dark if it's deep.. scared to dive takot nampak ikan jaws.. haha. But the minute we
went in about 17metres deep, we fell in love with the sea. The view was marvelous. You'll see all the
colourful corals and fishes that you've never seen before.. well maybe on TV but the real experience was
sooo much better. Jenny surprisingly had no trouble at all sinking into the water. I guess if you're doing
the real thing it will seem so much easier. It was hard to capture the photos though, you had to be real
close to the corals without touching it whilst maintaining your buoyancy underwater. I tried my best to
get closest to the corals without damaging them but didn't get very good shots.. Maybe the cheap
camera sucks.. Or maybe I suck.. whatever..
1240 - We had only about 40 minutes of dive because our gauge was nearing empty. Urghh time to go up..
dread the feeling that we had to leave the beautiful underworld and I wondered when I can be at that
same spot again. Bubbye pretty corals and fishes.. we hated to leave you but if we stayed, we'll run out
of oxygen and probably join you and become a monument underwater for the other divers to see.
1300 - Went back to KK. We mandi and went shopping and went to cut hair and process the underwater
negatives.
2000 - Our very last class - final exam.. yahoo... both of us passed and we are now certified open water divers..
Huhh.. I like the sound of it.. we checked out the store and planned to buy our own snorkels and fins..
Jenny's planning to come back in May for another dive.. Nak ikottt.. tapi tgk la kalau ada duit.
2330 - Right after class, Jenny sent me to Aweng's house in Kudat kot.. Aweng and Botak picked me up
somewhere in that area and tomorrow the five of us (aweng,botak,baby,ya and myself) will be heading on
to Padas River for white water rafting. Sadly Jenny could not join coz she had to leave KL early. Her
flight was earlier than mine. Kesian Jenny.. maybe next time gal.
0000 - Reached Aweng's place. The gang just got down from Kinabalu.. Huhu.. luckily I never followed them
coz they went up thru Timpohon since I've climbed up thru Timpohon route before. Maybe next time we'll
plan another trip and go thru Mesilau trek. Yahoo tido esok nak pegi rafting.... Zzzzzz

aku, chukang, ngn beberapa orang chinese trekker depada KL telah pergi ke Gng Suku, Simpang Pulai, Perak.
Gng ni jarang di dengar, atau mungkin tak penah didengar lagi, lokasi kat simpang pulai, perak, 10 minit lepas Pos Slim - Kg Orang Asli dan starting point ke G. Chabang. Ade kawasan lapang untuk park kete. Landmark dia ada air terjun kecik.
Ketinggian gng ni ialah ~1850 meter, lebih kurang 5900 kaki. Tapi pendakian start pada ketinggian 700+ meter. Jadi boleh buat day trip je sebab pendakian mengambil masa lebih kurang 2-3 jam ke puncak.
Trek dia dah siap marking dan tak de simpang, sebab chinese group ni upah orang asli bukak route awal taun ni.
Trek sememangnye terus mencanak dari mula. Perjalanan dari sini ke waterpoint dianggarkan dalam 1 jam ke 1 jam stengah jam. Sampai di waterpoint, turun ke bawah sikit dan akan lintas sungai yang juga merupakan last waterpoint sebelum ke puncak. Kemudian terus sambung mendaki yang mane trek lepas waterpoint ni lebih mencanak dari tadi, macam dari Pacat nak ke puncak tipu Nuang. Climb mengambil masa lagi sejam ke sejam stengah.
Bile dah dekat ngn kawasan lumut.. nanti akan jumpa simpang, ke kanan akan ke campsite, ke kiri akan ke puncak. Kawasan lumut dan pokok bonsai dia masih cantik lagi, tak tercemar, kawasan pon bersih.
Puncak dia macam puncak bunga buah tapi sini takde beirut. Kalau view clear boleh nampak puncak Chabang dari sini.
Bile nak trek turun yang payah sikit, sebab kalau hujan lebat, mmg masak la, biawak2 memang menunggu utk ditangkap. Berapa kali aku tangkap biawak siap terseret2. Nak ikot tepi/off trek skek pon licin jugak. Last2 buat macam kat sunway theme park je.. main sliding2.. Nasib baik bile dah kuar ada air terjun kecik tu, bleh la bersihkan diri seperti keadaan asal. heh.
